Insurance Pre-Authorization

Job Summary: 
Provide outstanding customer service to patients and develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and other external customers.
 
Major Job Functions:
  • Document eligibility, benefit and authorization information in accordance with established guidelines. 
  • Verify prior-authorizations prior to services being performed.
  • Ability to multitask and remain focused while managing a high-volume, time-sensitive workload
  • Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively
Specifications:
  • Education:  Minimum of high school diploma with scheduling experience preferred
  • Experience:  Minimum of 1 year customer service or equivalent
  • Certification/License/Registration:  None
  • Position Titles and Number Supervised:  None
  • Special Training/Skills: Must have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess excellent phone etiquette. Must possess the ability to work alone. Must be discrete with all confidential information.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move about freely.  Must possess sufficient visual and auditory acuity to perform task associated with the position.
  • Working Conditions: Works in a medical facility.  Sits, stands and walks intermittently throughout the day.  Must stoop and bend in the course of the job performance. 
  • Other (Operational Excellence): Employee must be aware of and fully support all practice policies and procedures. Must have demonstrated ability to deliver services to physicians and administration in a responsive and courteous manner.
