GIS Technician

GIS TECHNICIAN
Salary Range:        $48,341-$76,400

Minimum Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in geographic information systems, geography, computer science, paralegal technology or related field and 1 year of GIS, land records, or paralegal experience; or any equivalent combination of train­ing and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina and an acceptable driving record. The employee must:  1) attain the North Carolina Property Mappers Association (NCPMA) Mapper designation within two years of employment; 2) attain certification as a State Certified Mapper through the Department of Secretary of State, Land Records Division within two years of employment; and 3) pass the University of North Carolina School of Government’s Property Tax Listing and Assessing course within two years of employment.
