Working Mobile Unit Supervisor/Driver, Part-time

Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a Part-Time Working Mobile Unit Supervisor/Driver in the Janitorial Department. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ECVC mobile janitorial unit. This person is responsible for supervising and performing work details while on the mobile unit.  This person will be the primary driver for the mobile unit and must maintain proper credentials to operate ECVC vehicles. Person is responsible for Cleaning and Sanitizing all locations with ECVC. This person is the back-up supervisor to other locations in the same time frame as needed.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the janitorial operation at the sites allocated through effective team management, cost control and standard settings.
  • Must maintain valid driving credentials to operate company vehicle.
  • Perform working duties while supervising.
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer relations through daily contact and customer visits.
  • Directs, coordinates, and monitors the activities of workers engaged in processing services.
  • Completes regular quality control inspections of assigned accounts and/or duties and acts appropriately based on results of quality inspections.
  • Plans and determines schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of contracts, skill of personnel, and production goals.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems. Investigates accidents or injuries and prepares reports of findings.
  • Requisitions materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Inspects, tests, and measures completed work using devices to verify conformance to standards.
  • Formulates and participates in marketing activities to promote ECVC’s janitorial services to businesses and municipalities in eastern NC.
  • Coordinates logistics for incoming, in-process, and out-bound materials. 
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as all external certification requirements.
  • Minimizes process inventory and maintains the highest level of inventory accuracy.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports performance data to ensure that necessary contract and/or certification requirements are being achieved.
  • Develops and manages process improvements and documents. 
  • Provides accurate and timely information to leadership regarding current and future staffing needs.
  • Cultivates and encourages positive team morale and company culture.
  • Handles and resolves customer issues.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively develop relationships with other people to enlist their needed cooperation in implementing and developing programs, policies, goals and objectives.
  • Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Participates in and/or leads various meetings including departmental, quality, and safety.
  • Assists management to develop and maintain written work instructions, safety rules and procedures, etc.

Physical Demands
  • Medium work lifting and/or moving objects up to 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.

Education and Experience
  • Associate degree from a community college plus 3-5 years of related management experience or High School Diploma with 5-7 years of experience or a combination of qualifying education and experience.
