Visit Greenville, NC Welcome Mary-Ann Ricks & Molly Haviland to the Team
GREENVILLE, NC- The Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Greenville, NC) is excited to announce the addition of two new full-time staff members to continue our mission of promoting all of Greenville-Pitt County for leisure, meetings, and sports tourism opportunities to audiences outside of and within Pitt County.
“We are thrilled to welcome two new people to our Destination Marketing & Experience team! These two new positions will help Visit Greenville, NC reach and engage an even wider local, and potential visitor audience, both online and in person- whether people are already here, considering a potential visit or a relocation, or are not yet aware of all the wonderful things we have to offer,” stated Sierra Jones, Vice President of Destination Marketing & Development. “By having additional staff members dedicated to both creating and sharing more engaging social content, and offering in-depth knowledge about all the incredible people and places in Greenville-Pitt County, we plan to continue growing our destination brand, increasing visitation, and strengthening our local economy through tourism.”
Mary-Ann Ricks, Social Media Coordinator: Mary-Ann Ricks is an Eastern North Carolina native, and graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Management, specializing in Event Planning. During her time at and after ECU, she gained extensive experience in the hospitality and event industries, which paved the way for her passion in social media marketing, where promoting small businesses through targeted marketing quickly became her primary focus and passion.
In her role as Social Media Coordinator she will be responsible for social media content creation, curation, and community management across all Visit Greenville, NC and Play Greenville, NC Sports consumer-facing social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, X, and more.
“I am excited for the opportunity to showcase our community and beyond, highlighting all that Greenville and Pitt County have to offer,” stated Mary-Ann Ricks, Social Media Coordinator for Visit Greenville, NC. “I hope you’ll join us on this journey as we spotlight every small business and place that makes Greenville-Pitt County great!”
Outside of work, Mary-Ann enjoys spending quality time with her partner Bruce and their two dogs, Brody and Ruby. When she’s not working, you can often find her at the gym or immersed in a good book.
Molly Haviland, Visitor Experience Specialist: Molly is originally from Fayetteville, NC, and moved to Greenville in 2021. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Science from East Carolina University, and just completed her Master of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, with graduate certificates in Leadership in Organizations as well as Quantitative Methods in Social and Behavioral Sciences at ECU in May 2025. During her time at ECU, she worked for Campus Recreation and Wellness, as both a Graduate Assistant for Member Services and Communications & Promotions, where she helped plan and work special events, served as a liaison for marketing efforts of programs, collaborated with other campus and city partners, and more.
As the new Visitor Experience Specialist, Molly will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Visitors Center, located at 417 Cotanche Street, in the heart of Downtown Greenville. In this very public-facing position, Molly will assist in-market visitors and potential visitors, help promote and craft unforgettable experiences in Greenville-Pitt County, and more.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends at local events such as trivia nights, music bingo, or playing a great game of pickleball. She is a big concert goer and has seen almost 200 artists and bands live! When not out and about around town with friends, Molly loves trying out new recipes at home or walking one of the local trails (Wildwood Park being her favorite).
"I am excited to work with such an amazing team of people to support efforts of sharing and encouraging others to experience all there is to do in the vibrant city of Greenville and Pitt County,” stated Molly Haviland, Visitor Experience Specialist for Visit Greenville, NC. “There is truly something for everyone here!"
