Local Scouting Council Honors Community Leaders at Distinguished Citizen Award Dinners

Scouting America - East Carolina Council will celebrate outstanding community leadership at the upcoming Distinguished Citizen Award Dinners/Luncheon (DCAD/DCAL) in Craven County, Pitt County, and Caswell this fall.

These special events recognize individuals whose integrity, service, and dedication exemplify the values of Scouting. Each honoree has made a lasting impact on their community through civic involvement, professional achievements, and commitment to youth development.

The 2025 honorees are:

• Craven County DCAD: Mr. Bill McClay and Britt Warren
• Pitt County DCAD: Mrs. Kristi Overton-Johnson
• Caswell DCAL: Dr. Ralph Lee Cox

Proceeds from the DCAD/DCAL supports local Scouting programs, providing resources for leadership training, outdoor adventures, and educational initiatives that shape the next generation of responsible citizens.
