INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER III
Salary Range:       $48,341 - $76,400

Primary Purpose of Position 
The main purpose of this position is to complete all second party checking of applications and recertifications for Long Term Care, Special Assistance and Community Alternatives Program. The average case load consists of 40-50 cases. The case load would consist of relative cases (Long Term Care, Special Assistance and Community Alternatives Program) and small ongoing caseload for Special Assistance recertifications and redeterminations. Assisting Income Maintenance Caseworkers with policy and procedures. Walk-ins and referrals come from social workers, medical providers, community groups, as well as relatives and concerned citizens.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
Thorough knowledge of income maintenance program assigned. Considerable knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. General knowledge of all income maintenance programs. Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of regulations, policies and procedure of varying complexity. Ability to work independently and prioritize work. Ability to instruct arid evaluate the work of lower level employees. Ability to train employees in new and existing rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to understand the needs and problems of clients/applicants. Ability to perform caseworker function under and within structured time frames.


Minimum Education and Experience 
Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) and NC FAST Certificate are preferred. Valid North Carolina driver's license required. Bilinguals encouraged to apply. DD 214 is required from applicants claiming a military preference.
