Lab Analyst II

Overview
 
Performs analysis of the raw materials and finished goods following specific instructions from SOPs and analytical procedures.  Cross checks the results with the specification limits.  Informs supervisor immediately if lab results do not meet specifications. Assists in the completion of laboratory projects.
 
Responsibilities 
  • Performs analyses including instrumental and automated methods utilizing prescribed procedures and techniques.
  • Maintains well-documented laboratory notebooks and records.
  • Performs calculations to convert laboratory data into a reportable form.
  • Reports results on the appropriate database (SAP).
  • Interprets test results.
  • Maintains customer files in an organized fashion.
  • Compounds formulas and products for internal use and customers.
  • Assists R&D Manager/Food Scientist/Flavorist with projects from start to completion.
  • Clean glassware and maintain a clean environment.
  • Restock chemicals from the stock room.
  • Check inventory of R&D samples and dispose them accordingly.
  • Create purchase requisitions in SAP.
  • Complete inventory movements in SAP.
  • Create SDS sheets.
  • Assist in tobacco extraction production.
  • Prepare R&D samples and send it to the customers.
  • Ensures safety, housekeeping and compliance issues are maintained.

  • Comply with all job related safety and other training requirements.
  •  May be asked to perform other duties if necessary.
  • Assist in method development and validation activities.
Requirements | Qualifications
  • BS/BA with a concentration in Chemical or Biological Science and two to four years laboratory experience; or AA/AS in a physical or biological science and four years of experience in a laboratory.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or related laboratory.
  • Broad knowledge of analytical and chemical techniques.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others to achieve team goals and expectations.
  • Interest in researching and implementation of new approaches in analysis.
  • Ensure that the lab is maintained in a safe operating condition as per company safety policies.
