The Nautical Group is a retained executive search firm partnering with clients to identify and recruit outstanding individuals capable of serving in key disciplines.  Our firm has been retained by Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern North Carolina (RMHC of ENC) in the search for their next President and CEO.  Since 1987, RMHC of ENC has been a beacon of hope and welcomes families who are far from home stay close their hospitalized child and benefit from the comforts of home without incurring gas, hotel and food costs.  RMHC of ENC’s two houses on Moye Boulevard and inside Maynard Children’s Hospital at ECU Medical Center offer physical comforts and emotional support designed to promote the well-being of the whole family.

Reporting to the board of directors, the President and CEO for RMHC of ENC serves as the face of the organization and will carry out the directives of the Board and have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the organization’s staff, programs, expansion and execution of its mission.   

Essential Functions: 

? Oversee daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance
? Work collaboratively with Development Director to create a stewardship and fundraising plan, including strengthening existing donor relationships and developing new relationships with community businesses, foundations and individuals, with a focus on major gifts and grant opportunities
? Identify and address staffing requirements for efficient operations and maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains people while driving the mission
? Support and strengthen the organization's culture through fair and appropriate coaching, annual performance appraisals, developing a replacement and succession staffing plan, and developing an updated compensation and benefits plan, thereby attracting and retaining a strong mission-driven staff
? Champion a spirit of collaboration to advance organizational goals and build a shared sense of purpose among the team; motivate and guide the team to be well organized, creative thinkers and problem solvers
? Supervise leadership team members and establish goals to promote growth
? Maintain accountability for the operational and fiscal integrity of the organization within policies set by the Board of Directors and per current laws and regulations
? Responsibly manage the overall annual budget; present periodic financial reports to the board of directors and share feedback with appropriate staff to create actionable items
? Make financial decisions and program recommendations based on a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s overall financial position
? Represent RMHC of ENC as the main spokesperson with local media, hospitals, McDonald’s owner/operators, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities global system

Qualifications
? Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human services or related area preferred
? A heart to serve and a passion for the mission and vision of RMHC of ENC
? Experience in executive leadership, preferably with non-profit organizations managing teams, budgets, resources, and processes
? Demonstrated experience as a leader of people; knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, including staff management
? Understanding of fundraising and development channels including individual and corporate donors, major and planned gifts, annual and capital campaign, events, grants, etc.
? Proven networking and relationship building skills in the nonprofit community
? Dynamic, charismatic team player who enjoys being the face of the organization
? Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
