JOB DESCRIPTION: Operations Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Operations Coordinator’s first priority is to provide executive support by maintaining administrative excellence and working to develop systems to meet the evolving needs of the organization. The Operations Coordinator will work alongside the Executive Director, helping to achieve organizational priorities and strengthen our services to the community.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and will possess strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills. The Operations Coordinator must be mission-driven and community-oriented, with the ability to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of our priorities, exceptional organization, solid interpersonal skills, and clear written/verbal communication
  • Be flexible and open to fulfilling additional/modified responsibilities to support our entrepreneurial environment
  • Engage in activities with a sense of humor, good judgment, professionalism, urgency, and attention to detail



PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide general administrative and comprehensive support to the Executive Director and team, working to develop systems that maximize our time and impact
  • Manage plans and logistics around workshops and community events
    • Ensure marketing, manage registrations and communication
  • Work alongside the ED to manage the Heart for ENC Nonprofit Business Center, being the lead resource for inquiries, tenant communication and problem solving
  • Organize logistics for meetings, community events, retreats, various board meetings
  • Maintain quality filing and communications systems including contact management (SalesForce), document management, and archiving
  • Support strategic marketing and communication efforts through our social media and website
  • Support Executive Director with donor/funder relations and communication
  • Work alongside the Executive Director to develop contacts and grow our reach throughout eastern NC
  • Support the Executive Director in strategic communications, organizational strategy, and all other special projects as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: 2 years related work experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take initiative, multi-task, be a team player, be flexible, adapt to shifting priorities and prioritize work
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills, commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to access a wide range of sources and networks for information
  • Display good judgment and ability to function independently
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting (QuickBooks experience is a plus)
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite, and social media web platforms
  • Working knowledge of SalesForce or other CRM software preferred
  • Ability to manage up
  • Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
 
About Heart for ENC
Heart for ENC was started by a group of community leaders that felt led by God to come alongside local nonprofit and faith-based organizations. Our mission is to support their mission through providing capacity building training and resources, building connections throughout the community, and offering services that help them move forward in their missions. We believe that healthy nonprofits can empower change and ultimately transform our communities, and we are constantly dreaming about ways to help bring the resources of the community to bear on the needs that these nonprofits serve.  In addition, we have developed the Heart for ENC Nonprofit Business Center, which is home to 17 different nonprofit organizations and several other businesses. We’re seeking to use this space to develop partnerships, grow collaboration, and raise awareness of the many wonderful organizations serving our community.
 
JOB SPECIFICS:
STATUS: This is a Part-Time role (20 - 25 hours per week), with the potential for the hours to grow
WORK HOURS: Somewhat flexible during our work week M-F 8am-5pm
PAY RANGE: $20 and up / hour, depending on experience
BENEFITS: IRA and employer match available after an introductory period
