Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children, Inc. reveals ‘Greenville Baby’ board book
Greenville, NC (September 20, 2017) - It’s never too early to start reading with a child. The Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children and PNC Financial Group’s Grow Up Great initiative are excited to reveal ‘Greenville Baby’, a brand-new board book created specifically to reflect what it’s like to grow up in Greenville, North Carolina.
The book is filled with images that represent the wonderful community that Greenville has to offer, including the Town Commons, East Carolina University and Pitt Community College, Greenville Police Department and Greenville Fire/Rescue, Sheppard Memorial Library, the Little League Stadium at Elm Street Park, Go Science!, and more. It is our hope that families will utilize ‘Greenville Baby’ to encourage children to explore the world around them while promoting reading, writing, and speech skills.
Join the Partnership and the staff at Emerge on September 22nd as we reveal ‘Greenville Baby’ for the first time with a celebratory reading from WITN news anchor/reporter and mother of three Heather King. The gallery will open at 6:30 p.m. and the reading will begin at 7 p.m. The first 25 people will receive a free copy of Greenville Baby, but we ask that it be limited to one copy per family. People may also purchase copies of ‘Greenville Baby’ at the reveal for $9 each.
Beginning September 25, ‘Greenville Baby’ will be available for purchase for $10 at the Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children office in Greenville. Proceeds from the book will be used to continue early childhood education initiatives and literacy programs throughout Greenville and Pitt County, in support of the Partnership’s mission to ensure that every child in our community arrives for kindergarten ready for a life of success.
