About Us

South Central HS is the newest high school in Pitt County. The building was finished and staffed in 2002. A group of students met with PCS representatives and board members to create a name for the new high school along with school colors and a mascot.
Black and silver were chosen as school colors and the falcon was chosen as the mascot.
SCHS first opened for the 2002-2003 school year serving only Freshman and Sophomores. Each year an additional grade was added until finally, in 2004-2005, all four high school grade levels were represented resulting in SCHS producing the first graduating class.

Mission Statement

To empower students to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate successfully, and create independently through quality instruction supported by caring relationships.
