Pitt County Coalition on Substance Abuse - Greenville STOP Series

Pitt County Coalition on Substance Abuse - Greenville STOP Series

The Stop The Opioid Pandemic (STOP) is a grant funded project from the Vidant Health Foundation in partnership with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Department.  This is a one night event that is hosted throughout Pitt County to education the community on opioids. The three different parts you will see presentations on are Opioids 101, Personal Stories, and Current Trends.

  • Opioids 101 will answer the questions - What are opioids? How do they help with pain? Why are they so addictive? What about genetics? Can I use something else for pain?
  • During the personal stories, included are journeys of anguish, hope, love, success and loss from local families along with learning about the role of enabling and local support groups. Discover why the role family and friends play in recovery is so important.
  • During current trends, The Good Samaritan Law, what Narcan is, Law enforcement efforts, and harm reduction will be covered.
